The overwhelming characteristic of lives lived
for Christ
is that we serve the needs of others.
The Lord Jesus didn’t take His
own needs into account,
nor did He assert His rights as the Son of God.
He
humbled Himself and took on the nature of a servant,
even to the point of death
on a cross.*
We
prove that we believe treasure can be stored in Heaven
when we follow
Christ’s example
of dying to our own desires
for the sake of other precious
souls
who need the love we have through Jesus Christ.
That’s how the world
knows us, by our love.**

I have been thinking about this lately... that Jesus came to serve... not to be served! I oftentimes get tired and want to be served! :(
ReplyDeleteOh I want you to be able to be waited on once in awhile! :-) For myself, I know receiving the ministrations of others requires Godly grace as well. Some of us (me) are a lot happier being the energetic caregiver than we are being a patient. So good to hear from you, Georgene!
